Long Tall Connie Ball is tall with very large flowers, yet the scapes are ramrod stiff and it never leans, a great quality for a daylily this tall with flowers this big.  It's  fertile both ways, setting pods readily as long as it's not extremely hot. The flowers are bright and right at eye level, making a clump of this larger-than-life plant  a great presence in the garden.  It's out of Judy Davisson's excellent Wiggly Piggly which always rewards with seedlings with great flower form and excellent branching. With all these qualities, whether it's used as a showy, stately garden plant or a go-to-parent in a hybridizing program, this is a great addition to the garden!​
