UNCLE ORANGE (Laffin 2024) 47" tall, 6.5" bloom, 4 branches, 29 buds, Mid, Dor, Tet
$120 DF
Uncle Orange is my best orange yet, combining height and show quality scapes with a beautiful watermarked bloom. Flower is bright reddish orange with a peach watermark and yellow-to-green throat. It is diamond dusted. The blooms are ideally spaced on tall, upright scapes with candelabra branching.
Orange is one of my favorite colors for a daylily, but I like them to be different in some way from the older oranges - either in brightness, height, or an interesting bloom. Uncle Orange hits all these traits, plus it has great branching, bud count, excellent vigor and cold hardiness. Not a surprise given its excellent parentage: ((Up On The Roof x Orange Clown) X Doctor Handsome)), all truly excellent plants and great parents. I hit the jackpot with this combination: I have been evaluating this one for years, and it just keeps getting better. Fertile both ways.
